the problem with religion isn’t what it stands for, what it says, or however any of them want you to practice them

point is, people are never happy with the status quo

it can always be better

why is it that instinctive human drive is to make things better

keep improving

of course you can apply this to the whole human race or an individual

the difference is humankind has X amount of years to keep improving

you only have about 100 years

so you need to know when to call it

that’s good enough for now

lets apply it to something simple like

amount of work / effort you put into a report no one will read

is that worth 100 – that effort = your already dwindilingy time left on earth

you need to decide when enough is enough

and also at the same time never be satisfied

knowing how to get there quickly without ever being satisfied is a way to encourge constant quick, small improvments instead of long, big improvements

tonight i was out with friends and had two drinks… no really i only had two drinks.

cops pull me over and it seems like before i even said anything, they already decided i was drunk driving.

long story short i find myself in the back seat of their cruiser, handcuffed, going back to the station.

in my opinion i crushed all of their sobriety tests, yet he said “in my trained opinion you failed all three” although when i asked what about them i failed i never got a straight answer.

i refused the on site breathlyzer they tried to give but this was a voluntary one (that means $85 fine for saying no as it turns out)

its been a long time since i had a drink so i knew it would be close but i really didnt know what it would be.

i got back to the station, talked to my friends on my call, and decided to blow rather than refuse. they really fuck you for a refusal but i didn’t know what i would blow.

i blew a .077 and a .079

you can’t get too much closer

what is the moral of the story?

i feel very lucky tonight and hence this post.

cops will do whatever they want. all you can do is be polite and make sure they know you are aware of your rights.

i look forward to the day when they wear video cameras so later in a court of law there can be no mistake about he said / she said. it will be what was recorded so if they want to say i failed the tests they would have to have video proof.

on a side note, cops in newport ri are out to get you. i have had multiple issues with them personally yet i’ve never had any problems whatsoever with cops anywhere else. i’ve lived many years in both miami, fl and seattle, wa and never once have i had any problems.

what is it about newport that has such a high rate of cop run ins?

less to do in rhode island? or on a power trip? or just out to fuck with college aged kids?

i dont know but i certainly dont want to go back to newport anytime soon. fuck that place. you can keep those stuffy bars too.

this is why i love weed

one hour ago i smoke and then i proceeded to do the following

1. play guitar for 15 minutes
2. go to kitchen
3. make guacamole (fuck yeah bought ingredients today)
4. delish, eat some save for linds
5. still hungry… figure make a blueberry muffin
6. grill that up with butter and a glass of milk for pairing
7. then i came back into the living room
8. now on the couch watching tv and writing this

thats all in one hour flat

if i dont smoke weed my hour looks like

1. play on internet (and that parts fine)
